Aaaaaaaaaaaargh! [More sscars from L*tus N*tes]

My office, as I made it painfully obvious yesterday, uses Bloated Notes. We have our Leave management system (LMS) integrated into this piece of cr*p. You create a new Leave application, and after filling the details, you can press 'Close' to submit your application (this in itself is idotic) or 'Cancel' to cancel the process. I'd applied for leave next week and had it approved. Today I wanted to cancel it, so I opened LMS, clicked on my leave application, and hunted for an Edit button. Nope. No 'cancel leave' button either. Some blithering idiot put in a feature where if you double click the body of any mail in your mailbox, you can edit it. So I figured this LMS thing might be similar, and double cliked all over the form. Nothing. Frustrated, I hit 'Close', praying it would ask me something. Nothing. I repeated this process a few times, after closing and re-opening Notes. Nothing. Finally, I went and asked another guy. He opened the document, hit the 'Cancel' button, and it asks the reason I want to cancel my leave! :wtf: Great! Same set of two buttons, in the same application, for two tasks, doing *exactly opposite functions*. X| I rarely get angry and am quite civil, but I honestly believe whoever developed this should be hanged, drawn and quartered, and *then* really hurt. Cheers, Vikram.

The LMS is something designed by the admins, not a standard part of Notes so tell the peopel who designed that whatyou think. The tigress is here :-D

At my last place of employment we had Notes and it worked pretty well, must be how it is set up. The tigress is here :-D

No amount of setup could make that abomination useable. Anna :rose: Riverblade Ltd - Software Consultancy Services Anna's Place | Tears and Laughter "Be yourself - not what others think you should be" - Marcia Graesch "Anna's just a sexy-looking lesbian tart" - A friend, trying to wind me up. It didn't work.

I'm afraid I have to second Anna's opinion. The phrase "worked pretty well" and Lotus Blotes are generally not said together. :| I suppose you might use it in a way analgous to saying, "Why yes Barney, I gave myself an appendectomy with a dull spoon, and it worked pretty well". Meaning that the speaker, having survived the self inflicted operation, would be happy with anything at that point. :omg: That's how I like to think of using Blotes - surgery with a dull spoon! :) ¡El diablo está en mis pantalones! ¡Mire, mire!
