Win32 is a 32 bit operating system. I wanna ask why are the # of bits of OS important for a programmer. Whats exactly the difference between a 32 bit OS and 16 bit OS. Shahzad

I am sorry about the previous post, this is my first time and I was confused. Many people will give you long lectures about differences and there will be many variations of the answer but I think there is no clear definition. People say that 32-bit operating systems have this and that and some people say that the processor has this and that but there are usually many inconsistencies in those answers. I think that classifying operating systems and processors is just not as easy as many people would like it to be. ================== The original message was: Win32 is a 32 bit operating system.
