no but you're dodging the question

when all the major polls come in within 6 or 8 points of each other, you have to assume the real number is in that range. all those polling companies compete with each other to give the most accurate results, and they get big bucks for doing it.

it isnt' really important, his approval rating can go to 5% but he is still the president

i bet it matters a lot to all the congressional Republicans who would probably rather ride the coattails of a popular president than have to deal with the fact that they spent the last 5 years supporting an unpopular one. Cleek | Image Toolkits | Thumbnail maker

It does seem that America and the World are so divided. I am not going to say that it is all bush's fault, though. Bush has done much to anger the world at us. With his arrogant spirit, like is shown in his comments like "Bring it on..." (a message to the Iraqi insurgency", and his desire to "spread democracy" to any oil-rich nation. Part of it is the Oil For Food scandal. I think that France was so opposed to us going into Iraq, because we would uncover their involvement in it, and embarass them, which we did. The muslim nations hating us has nothing to do with Bush. They hate us because of the effect our western liberal culture is having on their theocracies. People are begining to think more independently now, and they hate that. And, I think that many other nations envy our freedom and wealth, too.

European countries have freedom and wealth. Many people in Europe dislike America not just because of Bush but because of the arrogant attitude of some Americans. Some people from the USA who strike up a conversation with the locals seem to assume that everyone else wants to hear about how wonderful America is and how much better it is than the country they are visiting. If you are looking for an analogy you do not go to visit a friend and tell them how much better your house is because they will shortly not be a friend any more.

When the sample only contains about 25% Republican I'd say he was doing OK with the opposition! ed ~"Watch your thoughts; they become your words. Watch your words they become your actions. I don't have the link anymore that showed the breakdown but I'd call it manufactured news.

When they are all coming in with the same numbers however they also proclaim that Republican approval is >= 80% then do the math! Geez! Draw your own conclusion. My point is that when all the numbers are all the same however they also state that 80% or more of Republicans strongly support Bush then it's obvious they are all doing a creative job (similar to creative accounting) making their own news cycle. My conclusion is that when they are making the calls...who is working? ed ~"Watch your thoughts; they become your words. Watch your words they become your actions.
