What do single men do when they get home by themselves ? Why did you ask this in the soapbox ? ( damn, this is the lounge, and I'm confused ) I am not single, but what I do hasn't changed much. I play guitar, and I code. Christian Graus - Microsoft MVP - C++ -- modified at 19:44 Thursday 3rd November, 2005

Play with my dog ;) He is usually eagerly waiting when I get home. After I wear him out, or he wears me out. I take care of things around my house. I have side projects, hobbies, that I will dabble in from time to time. However, I do work on some of my side projects[^]. ===================**

As well as the stuff I already mentioned, I do a lot of gardening, actually. I have 3 large garden areas, not counting the fruit trees, and we grow almost all our own food. Christian Graus - Microsoft MVP - C++

I have a decent collection of native american flutes,[^] that I do actually play (and recently bought a recording unit, and borrowing a microphone). I am trying to teach myself to read music when I can, and searching for the ellusive next octave on the Anasazi flute. I read, sometimes text book material (physics for game programmers is by the bedside), sometimes sci-fi/fantasy. I do photography[^] (though no where near Paul Watson's talent), hike on the weekends, and volunteer for various things. I write poetry, and am trying to take up art again (and cursing relearning that). I design new stuff for work when I am playing with code at home, usually in multi-threaded design stuff when other free time is found. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. watch TV, read, work in the yard, workout(kickboxing/running), design things I'll never build or code, pretend I can play guitar, code, ... BW
Meanwhile, behind the facade of this innocent looking bookstore...

It does seem that way though. hehehe and if I had followed the family's wishes when I first wanted to learn music, I would be playing the guitar also... I don't mind being the odd one. :) _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. Talk about things of tomorrow and the mice in the ceiling laugh. (Japanese Proverb)

i can see a few of you programming and music. does it make all programmers introvert. "Not everything that counts can be counted..." -Albert Einstein

I doubt it. I get home and play guitar for a bit, kayak or hike or fish on the weekends, karate class a few nights a week, teach college a couple of nights, play darts and carouse with young women most nights, and generally do anything not related to computers when I can avoid them. Who has time to code?;P "...a photo album is like Life, but flat and stuck to pages." - Shog9

You're not really a programmer though, Roger. ;P
Picture a huge catholic cathedral. In it there's many people, including a gregorian monk choir. You know, those who sing beautifully. Then they start singing, in latin, as they always do: "Ad hominem..." -Jörgen Sigvardsson

You're quite right, I'm not. I'm more of a technocrat generalist; if it uses electrons or holes, or if it enables them to be pushed around at will, I'm on it. Maybe that makes me a quantum bully.:-D "...a photo album is like Life, but flat and stuck to pages." - Shog9
