You're turning it on the way you want, but you know what all those people mean. Yes, it's not a programming language, it's a Meta language, but it doesn't change the fact that you shouldn't have to post here. Being rude with everybody just get the things worse for you.

Just being contrary does not mean you win the argument :) While HTML may or may not be a programming language, the fact of the matter is that there is a separate forum for this sort of thing. People don't want to see any code related questions in here because if we let one person bend the rules the next thing EVERYONE is going to be asking an XML question here and an HTML question there. Nick. P.S. Writing your whole message in capitals is pretty much bad manners. It's like standing next to someone and yelling in their ear.

Just because you've been lurking around here for 3 years doesn't give you "seniority" over anyone. The total number of posts might do something for that because you're actually contributing to the community that is CP. Posts of yours, unfortunately, count towards that total, but don't necessarily contribute anything but higher blood pressure. As a sidebar, I would have thought that lurking around here for 3 years would have told you that anything even remotely resembling a programming question in the Lounge and Soapbox would get the kind of response you're critisizing, and I use that term loosely. Your profile says you were born in 1987. Ahhh, the ignorance of youth. RageInTheMachine9532 "...a pungent, ghastly, stinky piece of cheese!" -- The Roaming Gnome

Just an idea for the site admins: why don't you start a system whereby people who ask "how-do-i-do.." type of questions are either demoted or have their points subtracted? The problem is never going to go away until some steps are taken to curb it. Hard-liner, i know, but can't be otherwise with some people. _________________________ Kri5

Saying Web Development isn't programming is going to insult about 40% of the CodeProject readers ;) While it's not a coding question, it's an HTML question, so should be in the Web Development forum. Not only so you will have an easier time getting it answered, but also so that others browsing the Web Development forum can see the answer as well and learn a bit themselves. cheers, Chris Maunder

Paul, c'mon. In Alex' defense, I think we've all posted programming questions here before. Alex is just like a mini-John Simmons. And as I recall, nobody balked at answering John's CSS question here in the Lounge a while back. The fact is that, once you get some amount of notoriety here, you're given a bit of implicit privelege and some lenience when you do post a semi-programming question in the Lounge. In fact...let's try a test... :-D

Well before when I was talking about calculus, I was in high school, but now I'm in college (UCSD because you have to say where you're going). It's going OK, except it takes a crapload of time doing all the homework and balancing my other irrelevant to engineering classes and my internship. I pretty much start every day at 7 and go to bed at 12 or 1 monday thought friday. It's a killer, but not too bad. I sometimes I fall asleep in biology, well pretty much every class because I'm under slept because of calc and my internship. Plus, I don't want to be addicted to caffeine so i don't drink red bulls (unfortunately). Were just finished the chapter on the chain rule and implicit differentiation, stuff like that. Now we're working on min max values and curve sketching. This chapter sounds a little nicer than the last... /\ |_ E X E GG
