...a new EzyDVD[^] has opened just around the corner (literally) a couple of weeks ago. Dropped in to see what they had and found mostly unbelievable prices. Purchased the following mostly for the kids but a couple for me. Hi Michael. Yeah, we have an EzyDVD in Hobart now. I have Office Space, but I need to get another Spinal Tap, I may just duck down there and check it out. I bought both my Dukes of Hazzard box sets from there, actually. I just got a Rocky and Bullwinkle box set, a Looney Tunes box set and a Motley Crue live DVD from the US. I bought both my Dukes of Hazzard box sets from there, actually. I just got a Rocky and Bullwinkle box set, a Looney Tunes box set and a Motley Crue live DVD from the US. I can get basic cable TV for $60 a month, I *think*. ( That is, it costs around that, but I'm not sure if it's available to me ). If I got that, I would have access to about 10 channels, of crap. One thing for me with DVD's is that I work full time and do heaps of extra work from home. I like being able to turn on something I want to watch, watch a bit of it, and go to bed knowing the rest will be there for me the next time I have a chance to watch it :-) And I like knowing what my kids watch. I recently discovered the BBC comedy 'Little Britain'. Very funny, but definately not much I could describe to you outside the soapbox. I was shocked when watching the extras on the second season that a lot of British kids were talking about how much they loved to watch it. The odds of my 9 yo watching that are ZERO. In other words, having a pile of DVDs near the TV for the kids, and one in my room for me gives me something that no subscription can offer - total control. Christian Graus - Microsoft MVP - C++

That's terrible that they think like that. A friend of mine hates Harry Potter, but his daughter loves it. So, I said that she could come with me when I see the next film with my family. Anyway, when I made the offer the rating on the film still wasn't decided. When I saw that the film was a 12 I was concerned. Even although she was only a month off her twelfth birthday I still went back to my friend to seek permission. So, in the case of something like that where the child is only a month off the age requirement, I don't see that there is much of a big deal - But I still wanted to check that it was okay. But to allow a child to view or play something that is 10+ years off the age requirement is just plain nuts.

TiVo.. TiVo.. TiVo.. (if you get cable someday that is :)) We got one last year and I will not be without a DVR again. It finally has brought value to cable as we have 40 different programs scheduled to record that are always there waiting for us when we find the time to watch something. Also works great for mini-series so that we do not miss any parts. Great when you are watching tv and something comes up (like the phone or the door), you hit pause and when you are done, come back and continue where you left off. In the news they were talking about TiVo being used to receive video on demand which will make it even better. We have Direct-TV which basic package is around $45 per month and gives plenty to watch, if I could just get more time to actually watch somethign ;) Rocky <>< Latest Post: Time for change! My Blog | My ArticlesHiya Nick :-) My trip was awesome - San Francisco was an experience ( full of weirdos ), Las Vegas was smelly and sleazy ( worth visiting once ), the Grand Canyon was awesome ( I will go again ), and Texas was a blast. Sadly I didn't catch up with any CPians there, but I went to Sea World, and saw the Alamo, and spent 5 days living with the guy I work for over there, a really great mix of business and pleasure. He's coming over here in Jan., so hopefully I manage an MVP next year so I can visit again :-) Christian Graus - Microsoft MVP - C++

Do you have a digital set top box for your tv? I had un watchable reception so I picked one up from Harvey Norman for $100 and now have dvd quality picture and sound, ABC2 and a TV guide.
