Hi everyone! I've seen the news at lanch, and one of them talked about a demostration that took place 2 days ago, here, in Spain. They said that the number of people who went there was: 2.000.000 according to the demostration organization, and 400.000 according to the goverment. That is a huge difference!, isn't it?. I'd like to meet the people who make these studies. I would ask them a couple of things... They are insulting our intelligence! I'm just wordering how is it in your countries. Years ago, we had the Million Man March in Washington DC. If I remember correctly, there were estimates anywhere frmo 500,000 to well over 1 million. I didn't know who to believe. I think some media outlets determine the number of people present by looking at aerial shots, determing the number of people per square inch on a photo, then using that number to calculate the number of people. It's not an exact science...you can't count every single head on a photo. Other estimates may be based on the number of sales of things like beverages, shirts, etc. They can assume a certain percentage of the population will purchase product, then based on the number of sales, they can determine how many people were present. About 10 years ago there was the Million Man March... It wasn't. Even though they said it was. Tim Smith I'm going to patent thought. I have yet to see any prior art.

Of course. I was talking about demostrations where the people is complaining about something. They are not going to show that differences in demostrations against violence at home for example, or against the war (or yes? ;))

:laugh: I can notice certain ironic tone here. My current English level doesn't let me to express what I want to say as I would like. Every demostration is to complain about something, isn't it? I just wanted to point out the difference between demostrations where the people don't agree with something (education law, gays weddings...) and demostrations where people are all against something (home violence, terrorism...). Arrggg, even I don't undertand myself sometimes. :doh:
