friday night, and i am snowed in at work for the night

yep, its true. down here in Cornwall, England, somewhere where "snow" means 3 flakes that melt the instant they land we have had the first snow of the year. so much snow that the local roads are impassible :~ i tried to drive home a few hours ago. when i found myself going sideways i got the idea that this was not all that safe :wtf: at least i was lucky, i was able to get the car back to the office, so i know i am parked somewhere safe. several other people had to abandon their cars upto a mile away and walk back, because there was no way they could drive up any of the local hills. so for the first time i will be doing an all nighter :zzz: zen is the art of being at one with the two'ness
this has always been a fear of mine living an hour from work. I have been the last person let through by state police twice. Although it is easier knowing you are the last person on the road. This morning was pretty bad, both with the heavy snow slowing my journey down, and the idiots who think they can drive at 80mph in the road-slush giving the police and ambulance services plenty to work with. I passed two seperate white vans who managed to spin themselves around and hit the barriers on the A380 past Telegraph Hill. Crazy, crazy people. It was very pretty first thing though - I was the first person out in my street so all the snow was untouched, except for a few cat prints. Just like on the Xmas cards. This evening there wasnt any snow at all though, it had all cleared, so you have my comisserations.

It's pouring down snow here in Minnesota, USA. We have something like 3-4 inches (~10 centimeters) since this morning. It's crazy. And I need to drive about 2 hours to the in-laws tonight for Thanksgiving. Gonna be a rough ride. :)

Good luck. My step-dad and his wife just came back from his cabin up in Ely, MN a week or so back. Apparently they just missed the snow. Up there they routinely have a couple of feet on the ground for most of the winter.

I've always believed the world needs a kick-ass Samurai Chicken. Written in the same spirit as Samurai Cat. Only I think the chicken would need to have been raised by rebel Ninja's to pull it all off...;)

Again, I would disagree. Ferociousness is associated with the big cats, lions, tigers, leopards. Anyone who has met a cougar, or even a bobcat in the wild knows they are just miniature big-cats very dangerous. The examples of wild cats in Hawaii and Australia where they become huge preditors and have to be hunted to protect the other species. I don't know... having seen a ... rooster fight once, I think a chicken doesn't need training. I'm in Helston and there's about an inch of snow here - the roads were pretty slushy when I drove home around 4:45 but not too bad. It's much worse on Bodmin Moor. Hope it clears up soon or you'll be doing an all-weekender! Steve. Asynes yw brassa ages kwilkynyow.
