In Atlanta Ga, we call that a state of emergency. :) Tim Smith I know what you're thinking punk, you're thinking did he spell check this document? Well, to tell you the truth I kinda forgot myself in all this excitement. But being this here's CodeProject, the most powerful forums in the world and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question, Do I feel lucky? Well do ya punk?

I'm in Huntsville, Al. They closed most schools around us and the ones that didn't close opened 2 hours late. Most places of buisness stayed open (unfortunately for me). I'm sure ya'll in Atlanta are in the same situation as us. It doesn't snow enough to justify the equipment to clean the roads. Unfortunately, a few people that live here act like they've never seen snow before and cause 20 car pileups on the interstate. nay

Actually, we didn't have any closings as of 8:45. By the time it reached us, it was mostly light dustings. Heavy at times, but since it was only a cloud here and there, nothing ever came of it. I also live in Atlanta and it's amazing, isn't it? Couple of inches of anything (water, sleet, ice, snow, etc.) and the whole damn city closes up for the day! Actually, before I started telecommuting it was kinda cool :P Cheers, Tom Archer Author, Inside C#

I heard that on Tuesday we are expecting a high of -10C. :omg: david ewan wrote: This is t-shirt weather compared to some days I remember walking downtown with David Cunningham about 2 years ago. It was -2C and windy, but sunny. He was wearing only a polo shirt to prove that it was, infact, a balmy day. I was rugged up with about 9 layers and it was only when he started blurring his words and turning blue whenever the wind picked up did I realise the true extent of the insanity of Canadians. I've loved the place ever since ;) cheers, Chris Maunder

In South Florida we call that... well, nothing. It just doesn't happen, although it's gonna dip into the 40s tonight. Time for the annual switching of the car's A/C setting from cold to hot. Burrrrr. We got an "Atlanta Snow" up here in New Jersey this winter. (You know, the stuff that packs down to ice as soon as 2 cars drive over it!?!) It was fun to watch the "Pros" spinning out and banging into each other. BTW I grew up in Atlanta (actually Stone Mountain) so I know what Y'all ;) are talking about.

Tim Smith wrote: In Atlanta Ga, we call that a state of emergency. Yes, this is the first time I've ever seen snow in Atlanta without someone predicting it. Of course, 19 times out of 20 they predict snow it doesn't happen. And the funniest part is that they'll shut the schools if there's a chance of snow. Pathetic. :-D Give me one more medicated peaceful moment

That is the dirty little secret about snow in the south (USA). Our snows aren't this nice dry stuff. Ours usually has periods of sleet, rain, ice, etc that makes driving on it a nightmare for anybody. I guess we have the Gulf of Mexico to thank for that. Same Same in Dallas. An engineer once told me that because of the rainstorms we have in North Texas the roads are crowned higher than normal and when those suckers freeze its bumper car city. We have rain and mixed snow forcast for Sat. Fun to be had by all Richard If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. Hang on there, unless you posted some other clean shaven Aussie's picture you can't claim a furry face!
