Yeah, figured that oue out after I posted to the lounge. I uninstalled all the extensions and went out to get them again. If you uninstall and reinstall the AdBlock extension, do you lose your custom list of blocked sites? Cheers, Vikram.

Greasemonkey is not working for me, I've uninstalled it. Also the Quote Selected Text buttong is not working on this site, it tells me I don't have text selected.... The version of GreaseMonkey that works best with FF1.5 is 0.6.x, but this uses a new technique to inject the JavaScript. Unfortunately this breaks a lot of existing scripts, as I found (I had written a few interesting ones, mainly for google and another forum, and had distributed them selectively). It's quite a pain getting them to work with the new system. Especially when you suffer the problem of the page never finishing loading (which I get on both systems, and google is by far one of the worst offenders). Ah well... I'm having the same problems, except I don't use the CP toolbar and don't visit CNET. :( ColorView, ForecastFox, IEView, WebDeveloper and Mouse Gestures are all working fine - either by themselves or by installing updates. Does Greasemonkey work for you? I installed the update, and the quick reply link shows up, but when I click on it nothing happens. Nothing. :| Could you please give me the links for the XPI file and the script so I can double check? Cheers, Vikram.

The latest version of GreaseMonkey is 0.6.3. - Yes, it's a pre-release version, but it's the best version available for FF1.5 at this time - and i've had relatively few problems with it. - Yes, it breaks some older scripts. Early versions of GreaseMonkey allowed untrusted code to take advantage of some obscure JS features to gain priviledges it shouldn't have. The new versions of FireFox and GreaseMonkey do a much better job of granting priviledges to user scripts without passing them on to random web sites... but there are a few changes required. Trust me, it's worth it. Oh - as always, you can pull the latest version of the CPhog user script here. :)

Let's use that phrase ("The BackEnd") for rehashing recent topics that have fallen off the first forum view page. :) 1) Why does everyone feel the need to parrot other news sites here. I've already seen the two news stories that were recently posted on at least FOUR other sites. C'mon guys, how about something original? 2) I just upgraded to Firefox 1.5 with no apparent problems. 3) MSDN search has sucked since MS changed over to CHM files and requiring IE to use the CD's. And why the hell can't it find info on structures used by the Windows API? I get the "content cannot be found" error more often than not, and the newer the version of MSDN, the less likely I am to find an answer on the freakin DVD... ------- sig starts "I've heard some drivers saying, 'We're going too fast here...'. I'd quote you saying you upgraded to FF 1.5, but Quote Selected Text seems to have broken :( I upgraded this morning, 1/2 the pages I vist are not completing, the little spinner keeps going forever, try going to http://www.cnet.com/[^]. Adblock - seems to be failing, I'm now seeing broken image icons for the ads I'm blocking (and when I click on adblock in the status bar it only shows the 'favicon' to block e.g. http://www.codeproject.com/favicon.ico). Greasemonkey - you need to install a beta. CodeProjectToolbar - incompatible (not such a big deal as the smiley amd link stuff works on the site now). CNET is still spinning (after about 20 mins). I don't use any extentions, so I can't comment, but all of the pages I've visited have completed. It would probably be better if the posts actually initiated discussion about the posted news item, sadly that rarely happens and 'the Lounge' does turn into a glorified link-blog. Even when a news item post does cause a discussion, they quickly disapper off the visible radar and so the discussion tends to falter. I've noticed the newer versions of MSDN have less API docs and more .NET docs. How smart of MS to throw away good documentation just to get the world to move to .NET. :| Jeremy Falcon
