It's not like the US would allow people to sue each other for stupid reasons. Or is this suit really stupid? :suss: -------- "I say no to drugs, but they don't listen." - Marilyn Manson
Parts of the Kyoto agreement would have provided this to happen I believe with the 'world courts' which is one of the reasons (beside economics) the US hasn't signed on. ed ~"Watch your thoughts; they become your words. That is the sad part. US want to pollute as much as it wants. Anyway, when there is no air left suitable for life, this will not have any sense anyway. -------- "I say no to drugs, but they don't listen." - Marilyn Manson

If that were true why are there US laws against pollution? If you want to address pollution why aren't you going after Asian countries who are much worse than the US ever was? Why the bias? :suss: ed ~"Watch your thoughts; they become your words. Watch your words they become your actions. Watch your actions; they become your habits. Statistically speaking, US is the most polluting country in the world, producing 25% of the pollution alone, and it is not even the most populated. http://www.guardian.co.uk/climatechange/story/0,12374,1644199,00.html[^] http://www.hindu.com/2005/11/18/stories/2005111803861100.htm[^] Just 2 links. Big cities in Asia are among the most polluted in the world, but they don't contribute to global warming as much as the USA. Think about it: 5% of the population producing 25% of the greenhouse effect gas in the world. That is a lot. -------- "I say no to drugs, but they don't listen." - Marilyn Manson

Lawsuits against the US over Global Warming[^] which isn't jiving with the possibility of a mini ice age.[^] Note that the article blames it on Global Warming however it also notes that temps worldwide haven't been this warm for 12,000 years. Go ahead and raise your hands if you were driving back then...or if any of your ancestors were causing it. ;P ed ~"Watch your thoughts; they become your words. No, it's because other countries like China and India are exempt from the rules, and this would give them an unfair advantage.
Partly agree. It may be that the US used that excuse only to appear to have a good reason not to sign the agreement. -------- "I say no to drugs, but they don't listen." - Marilyn Manson

Or maybe you will find a way to bash the US no matter what the facts are?

Interesting that those are opinions. I've yet to see anyone running around measuring! Seems it's not always the facts that get in the way![^] ed ~"Watch your thoughts; they become your words. No, I was pointing out how your statement do not hold much weight because of your bias. You give yourself too much credit. I'm in the very rich country of the US making a lot of money, you have to do a lot more than that to get me upset.

Good, now, when you have an open mind, and can get a grip on your own green bias against the US, maybe a open debate will be enjoyable between both parties.

Wasn't the Kyoto Treaty giving the Asian countries a pass though due to being "developing nations"? BW
