Those songs are very reminiscent of my child hood, driving to Bovey to get the biggest tree they had, toboggoning on Dartmoor, drinking mulled wine (yes, we did drink wine as kids), my dad shooting decorations off the christmas tree with my air rifle, snowball fights in the house, ahh, such memories... And then my dads mood would change and the whole holliday would go to shit. But, there you go, thats what you get for being the progeny of a manic depressive who drinks too much. Nunc est bibendum

I saw Motorhead open for Motley Crue last week, and my one regret was that they did not play this song, nor did they play anything off the follow up album ( Rock and Roll ). actually, Christmas-time has been a secular winter festival of gift giving for as long as there's been a Christmas. Christians just happen to have invented a holiday that happens to happen at the same time - and they've been mad about the coincidence ever since. so much of what we call Christmas has nothing at all to do with Christ, isn't mentioned in the Bible and/or is directly related to pagan festivals that pre-date Christianity: trees, wreaths, Yule logs, snow, snowmen, sleighs, Santa, orgies of shopping and spending, fruit cake, mistletoe, etc., no mention of that in the Bible. and listen to the songs. off the top of my head : Winter Wonderland, Jingle Bells, Jingle Bell Rock, Frosty, Rudolph, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Silver Bells, White Christmas, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas, I'll Be Home For Christmas, Have A Holly Jolly Christmas, Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer, etc.. all classics, all part of "the Christmas season", all celebrating something other than the birth of Christ. it's no accident that so many of the popular songs celebrate something other than Jesus - many of the people are celebrating something other than Jesus, too.
