Hi guys!! I am embarking on a software development project in Windows CE and I would need some help with some of the literature review that i have done so far. I have to admit that i am totally new with C++/Visual C++ and also Windows CE. but very keen and interested in finishing this project (not to mention my graduation hangs in balance now) Anyway, I would like to know what are the developement toolkits in CE that i need to have to start off? From the infromation that i have gathered, I realise that the following development toolkits in Windows CE programming are obsolete ; (1) Microsoft Visual Studio C++ 6.0 (2) Microsft Windows CE proramming in Visual C++ Toolkit version 3.0 From what i have gathered the above toolkits has been changed to this toolkit called the Platform Builder 3.0. I am a little confused with these and not to mention what a platform Builder do? Thanks!! Journey Into the Unknown

Visual Studio is definately not obsolete. There is the Embbeded Visual Tools 3.0 and I believe the Platform Builder is used to make customized versions of CE itself.

To develops CE applications you now need the Embedded Visual Tools. This is a custom version of Visual Studio. When I got mine last year is was free apart from shipping charges and I assume it still is, More info here Michael :-)
