I got a new task at work, the task is to build software licensing solution, to protect our products and control how many users are using our products based on the purchased license, but I have no idea about how to start designing and implementing this solution, any help

There are a lot of commercial solutions out there.. have you done research to see if something that fits your needs already exists? Sometimes I feel like I'm a USB printer in a parallel universe.

I know alot of places use FlexLM. Don't remember if it was really any good or not. ¡El diablo está en mis pantalones! ¡Mire, mire! Real Mentats use only 100% pure, unfooled around with Sapho Juice(tm)! SELECT * FROM User WHERE Clue > 0 0 rows returned

Look into Silicon Realms and their product Armadillo. It is supposed to be as close to hacker proof as possible and has online registration and purchase. It is a little steep on the cost 20% of your price if memory serves.

At that point it will be cheaper to not use any sotware protection at all as you generally don't loose 20% of your sales to illegal copies... John

go COTS. Something this basic should never be rebuilt from the ground up.
