it's really horrible that this story is getting that important. now, a man, who maybe only reacted on the impulse of catching a foul ball has his name displayed in view of everyone; and basically did nothing wrong.

I was watching that game and saw everything. That guy was a complete jerk. What kind of sick bastard steals a ball from a 4 year old kid and is apathetic about it? He showed absolutely no remorse and didn't apologize to the boy or his mother after he kicked him. Instead, he threw his arms up in the air as everyone (and I do mean everyone) chanted "Give him the ball!" presumably in an effort to incite the crowd more. I don't think the crowd stopped booing him until he left the ball park shortly after the incident.

>> only reacted on the impulse No. He did more than that. He showed his true colors when given the opportunity to act like a responsible member of the human race once his "impulse" was over. And like many MANY people these days, he "choose" to remain a Jack Ass that goes through life with no consideration of others. He is a devout member of the Nomewe tribe. he did something stupid, but nothing that warrant his face and his name being placarded everywhere; god, we treat him the same way way criminals are.

Such an event can teach a child different things: a) He can get everything he wants because he is so cute b) concious sharing can makemakes this world a better place c) the bigger bully wins d) You can win everything if you get the masses up against your enemy e) people are stupid f) a society has unwritten rules
we are here to help each other get through this thing, whatever it is Vonnegut jr.

Michael Martin wrote: So would Child Protective Services come after the parents for putting him in the position of potential danger in the first place? It is not common for fans to dive over seats to get a ball, Yes reach and grab but not what actaully happened here. Taking your agrument to the next position would say all parents should lose the children if they let them get in a car. Have you ever allowed that. Or let you kids go to school, they may get hurt. Michael Martin wrote: Coverage that makes it down here seems to show everyone nearest the field wearing their glove hoping for a catch and pandemonium (sp?) when a ball come in anyones direction. Typical Anti American presentation I must say. Reaching with a glove is not pandemonium. I do not mind getting old. It beats all the other options that can think of.
