I just got a call from my brother-in-law as he was standing at the top of one of the chairlifts at Hotham telling me he was staring at 25cm fresh snow. cheers, Chris Maunder

We've made some pretty drastic changes at the hosting facility and had the head network guy in to help diagnose some of the issues. It seems that they had a faulty card (yay!) that was causing major slowdowns, but also on our end we had a switch that wasn't quite up to task (boo!). So - vote 5 for good connection speed, 1 for bad. FYI: I'll be spending the weekend getting 2 new servers up and running in preparation for Monday. [Edit: We are currently down two servers so our network gain may very well be offset by some server pain. Should be good by tomorrow afternoon] cheers, Chris Maunder

Just got cable INet back, after subsisting on a cell connection for the past couple months. CP freeekin' blazes! oh... guess that isn't probably a useful comparison. Eh, well.

It seems about the same as it always is when there aren't a lot of users on the system, so I'll reserve judgement until middle of the day on Monday. I see the google ads now, I didn't see them before.

I don't see what the big deal was.

As of 11:00pm EDT in Michigan, the site is responding quick about 85% of the time. The other 15%, the response is SLOW to post a response or start a new thread. It looks like a bottleneck going to the SQL Server somewhere. RageInTheMachine9532 "...a pungent, ghastly, stinky piece of cheese!" -- The Roaming Gnome

Hmmm. It's really waffling today. Twenty minutes ago I started trying to get in - no go. Then just now it started working again, and the last couple of clicketies went faster than normal. Of course, having said that, this post will fail to reach the server. The Internet Router Gods are a fickle lot... Some people think of it as a six-pack; I consider it more of a support group.

still pretty slow. I've got a pretty fast dsl connection and every page takes a good 10 seconds or so to load.
