I`ve seen the lounge and the vc++ forum. I notice that if you post question on the vc++ forum, you probably won`t satisfied with the answer given. Maybe that`s why people post programming question on the lounge. I think there are more great programmers in the lounge. So where will I post my programming question. Hmmm. What do u think :)

Posting such announcements in this forum is like dangling a worm to catch fish. They are bound to be some fish that bite. Just be carefull that you don't fall into the water. Ant. I'm hard, yet soft.

I think you're rowing up stream without a canoe. If a question is asked that can be understood, it's usually answered, and answered correctly. Maybe you were looking at the CodeGuru site and just got confused... People ask coding questions in the lounge because they're fuckin morons that are about as aware of their surroundings as seaweed. ------- sig starts "I've heard some drivers saying, 'We're going too fast here...'. If you're not here to race, go the hell home - don't come here and grumble about going too fast. Why don't you tie a kerosene rag around your ankles so the ants won't climb up and eat your candy ass..." - Dale Earnhardt "...the staggering layers of obscenity in your statement make it a work of art on so many levels." - Jason Jystad, 10/26/2001

I notice that if you post question on the vc++ forum, you probably wont satisfied with the answer given. I don't believe this is true. I have posted plenty of programming questions in the C++ forum and I always get a great response in a short period of time. I have never had a problem. I know that when I am posting or "hanging out" in the lounge I always check other forums. I would assume that most other people do the same. That being said please refrain from posting programming questions in the lounge  There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

I've seen far too many questions that could be answered with just a few minutes searching articals on right here on code project, and a much larger number that google would answer. A lot of the answers I give are just from memory of things I've read about, not actually done. Tells me that most people asking questions can't be bothered to do basic research. I'm about ready to quit reading the forums because the questions are so boring. Remember, when you do research you will find answers that are a lot longer and more in depth that anyone will write. So it is to your advantage. Then too, if you can say "I've read the following links, but I don't understand this one point..." you can get more helpful answers. (and I'll enjoy reading the links if it is something new to learn, making answering your question fun) I'm getting really close to responding to most questions with a simple form: I found this in 5 minutes of search code project and google. Do the same and learn something. No links included (even though I'm looking at them!).

I hope you are joking. - Because if you believed that logic your code must be crap. - A lot of Qu's go unanswered in the forums because they were not asked properly and with decent etiquette. Regardz Colin J Davies

[edit] my first response was really bad lol. If I am going to criticize someone, I hope to do this in a positive way, so that a person can learn from there mistakes. Colin you tell my logic is wrong, yet do not explain why, this is annoying and counter productive. Thinking about it now, i should not even be wasting my time over something so foolish. But what angers me is the fact that i hate replying to post or asking question because of people like you. The arrogance and pettiness that occurs at times (not always i think there are a few great guys in here too) makes me not want to post. I'd rather google for information than God forbid ask one the programming Lords here to get off there thrown and help little old me. And yes i Google, i search through articles (form many sites), MSDN, and whatever resources i can get my hands on. I would never leave a post unless the problem was so specific, finding any relating documentaion on the web has become futile. As much as I would love to contribute ( I have started answering C# and C++ questions in the forums and working on an article), i don't expect anything from you guys. Thats a real shame, cause i live in the US, but not in the best of neighborhoods, leaving my only contact with programmers you guys. I am self-taught and still have not gotten my foot in the door, but i do nothing but code and study when i can. The fact that i would rather spend hours searching the web than drop a post should show how stupid remarks can discourage those with real ehtics (and questions) from posting. Your reply colin was stupid and uncalled for, if my logic is faulty, point out the flaws. Such a close minded statements should not be coming out of a competent programmer. This is true for a lot of questions posted. It is quite astonishing how many people are just that lazy or expect you to do the entire work for them. Surely it would be more rewarding to have done some research themselves. Ant. I'm hard, yet soft.

I can't get a post in edgewise because the site is so slow or down and keeps kicking me off etc. :(( I want to say that I really enjoyed this thread and if the site was operating better I would give most of you fives. I really didn't understand JimRivera's reply to ColinDavies :wtf: Sometimes another issue is the language barrier. At least for me, sometimes I just can't understand what someone is saying or asking.

1st... Did I actually reply to you or to the original poster, (goodmast3r) My intention was the original poster, and the threading shows that. 'goodmast3r' Asks where he should post his question. And implies that the lounge is a valid option. However he forgets the warning Please do NOT post programming questions to this forum. which clearly indicates this is what not to do. To me this is crap logic since it's fallacious. - Your post with the driving analogy, I actually agree with. Regardz Colin J Davies
