...spill drinks over them. I accidently knocked over a half full glass of tropical fruit juice, which conveniently went all down the front of the PC, and into it through the blow holes on top. Quickly turned it off and pulled out the plug. Mopped it all up, and fortunatly, it still works :-D

You have not truly learnt your lesson until you actually fry something from a spilled glass of juice/water/beer/jolt. Within a week you will be back to your bad habits, guaranteed ;) regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Ian Darling wrote: "and our loonies usually end up doing things like Monty Python." What is your malfunction? - Dangeresque, too?

Another thing you shouldn't do is drop your laptop down the stairs. Signature under construction.

Leaving it unattended while there's a two year old loose in the house is equally effective, as I discovered to my cost two years ago... Anna :rose: Homepage | Tears and Laughter "Be yourself - not what others think you should be" - Marcia Graesch "Anna's just a sexy-looking lesbian tart" - A friend, trying to wind me up. Also, do not yawn and stretch out as your laptop teeters on the edge of the couch you are on. That was a $200 lesson for me. Signature under construction.

I was lucky...my laptop (a Celeron based HP Omnibook) was ageing a little, and the insurance covered most of the cost of replacement (a Sony Vaio PCG-FX502). Having said that, the new one is starting to look old and battered too now...although it's survived two trips to Thailand and a disk upgrade, the key legends are fading, the back panel which covers the ports is missing and the catch is broken. :sigh: Once I'm on my feet again I suspect I'll be looking for a new one - and this time it's unlikely to be a Sony. Drinks also work wonders on keyboards and 3.5 floppies. This is why (at home) my pc is well away from the drink seating location. But at work, Yup they have the PC well placed. I do not mind getting old. It beats all the other options that can think of.

One of the guys here at work had plants on his bookshelf above his desk - he watered the plants one day and overflowed the planter causing a stream of water to flow directly into the airholes of his monitor causing a small fire X| - then he turns around and puts in a requisition for an expensive flat screen. Steve

There's a stupid commercial (for AOL I think) with a kid banging away with a hammer on the mouse while 2 adults argue about how to fix the computer.:wtf: Parenting tip: teach your kid to bash away at expensive gear while chatting with people 2 feet away.:sigh: Canada has 6 zones, none of which are erogenous.
