I've heard a lot about "Asperger Autism", but yesterday I read a casual term for it: The "Geek Syndrome" ^. So I took part in a screening test ^, and got a score of 37 (eighty percent of those diagnosed with autism or a related disorder scored 32 or higher). Did anybody else take that test? How many possible "Asperger Autists" are here on CP, and... why the hell do those psycho-docs call it a syndrome?! It's not bad to be strange. If there was a little more tolerance for strange people, no "Aspi" would need any therapy. :rose: Have Fun testing yourself, coco

Well I scored 30, which is below 32 but still above average. Does that make me a geek? :) Rado

This comes as no surprise to me. However, I am quite lucky: Although I might find social groups trying, and can find it very difficult to express myself, I don't usually have any trouble reading others. I guess this saves me, as I know when to shut up :)

Oh everything is an illness. Alcoholism is an illness. Gambling is an illness. Playing video games until 2 am is an illness. It's time people took responsibility for their own actions. ----------------------------- All truth passes through 3 stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

:rose: Have Fun testing yourself, coco

                                        a) if there is a drug to treat it, you will find someone who calls it an illness. b) a syndrome is just a distinguishible behavioral pattern, without an attached reason (i.e. a set of related symptoms) c) 20, but I think it's misdiagnosed. I'm "Anti-Asperger" with the social questions - mostly because I'm a "human behavior geek", so thinking about facial impressions, motivation etc. is what I do instead of collecting star wars light sabres.. (I want to be Asperger too!!!!) d) 37 is ok, really. It's nice to know it's not only us guys....

if there is a drug to treat it, you will find someone who calls it an illness. At least for a few years - as long as the drug is expensive. When a cheap drug exists, nobody won't be interested in the illness anymore...
