trapping events in downlaod dialog box in asp.net with c#

Hi I have implemented a download facility in my web site..I need to update my database after downlaod has been completed...the problem that i am facing is, i cannot trap when the download has completed..and hence cannot updated my Database because ideally the Database should only be updated when the download has been completed. Please Help Ashu
