I don't think he actually codes at all. He's really an anthropologist. BW The Biggest Loser

I think it is safe to say that he can code in any language after all his pointy haired boss would not be able to understand any of them. But my vote for c++

I can't see the pointy haired guy running a pc shop. He's more the mainframe kinda guy making Dilbert in all likelihood a *gasp* COBOL programmer. I believe he is an engineer - in the animated series, he was one of the members that created the "Gruntmaster 6000" [^] He does have a computer in his cubicle. In another episode, he was given the task of creating art on his computer (a blue duck that takes the art world by storm to the point where it is destroyed) ... Steve

It is for this compnay that Dilbert is an anthropologist. Or "Industry Analyst" if you please. It's all a ploy to study the Homo Business Man, and exploit him for maximum financial gain. BW The Biggest Loser

Wow, maybe it's true he doesn't code at all, it's just that I'm a programmer and feel so damn identified with him. I mean, Dilbert's author should worked at any point of it's life as a programmer, there's no other way he knew all of project's leaders tipical anwers and "politics". jejeje

According to Scott Adams, what Dilbert or his company does, as well as the name of the pointy haired boss, is left intentionally vague. That's so you can imagine him in your industry, and the PHB as your boss, so you can relate better. :-D An expert is somebody who learns more and more about less and less, until he knows absolutely everything about nothing.

He performs verification and validation (V&V) of digital flight control software written in C and uses the VxWorks OS for emulating the hardware (for which he gets to revel in the elegancy of C++). ~Nitron.

From Dilber calendar, Feb 26: PHB: I saw the code for your computer program yesterday. PHB: It looked easy. It's just a bunch of typing and half the words were spelled wrong. PHB: And don't get me started about your over-use of colons. DB: They remind me of you, sir. The colons could imply C++. Canada has 6 zones, none of which are erogenous.
