over the years i have accumulated lots of documents of various types (word, excel, pfd). Though they are arranged in decent hirearchical way, i am finding it difficult to search thru this to get list of docs on one topic. Can someone please recommend some software that can help me arrange these docs and make searching documents easy (index search based on keywords will do). hope i am clear. thanks

Turn on the indexing service on Windows XP, it has exactly this funcionality. MS Word can do the search (slower, because it's not indexed). Although slower, it's way faster than doing it manually. Just use the menu File/File Search. Yes, even I am blogging now!

Hi Ganesh, are you looking for a scaleable commercial solution (eg: for your organization) or mainly for a personal desktop solution for yourself? Thanks, /ravi My new year's resolution: 2048 x 1536 Home | Articles | Freeware | Music ravib@ravib.com
