One for you, Christian. You posted a few days ago in response to the latest survey, saying that you had basically dusted off an Amiga so you could do some sort of port of an old Amiga app. You also mentioned that the old AmigaDos and Workbench (Intuition) interface wasn't looking so good. Try this - "Amiga In a Box" - an Amiga emulator for Windows, and a superb job of customizing the workbench to give it a modern look and feel. It's still the real amiga stuff, but looks pretty damn good for a 16 year old operating system! http://www.winuae.com - the basic emulator http://aiab.emuunlim.com/main.html - "Amiga in a Box" (a full workbench setup, ready to go) It takes a little work to get it all set up, and you might need to chase down the Kickstart ROM images and Workbench Disk images - although if you have a real Amiga on hand there are utilities available to allow you to transfer this info across to your Windows PC. Then fire it up and away you go. It looks great, works pretty well, and you can play all those old Amiga games again! And if you want to get REAL nostalgic, try : http://www.computerbrains.com/ccs64.html "on the 11th day, god found out his girlfriend was sleeping with Jon Bon Jovi..."

Thanks for the link - I have WinUAE with ROMs around here somewhere, so I'll give it a go !! Oh, I have a C64 emulator on a CD somewhere too. And an Apple ][ emulator with lots of old games. I used to live for emulation, and prided myself on being able to run every other computer I'd owned in a Window on my desktop ;) "on the 11th day, god found out his girlfriend was sleeping with Jon Bon Jovi..." And who could blame her ? Christian As I learn the innermost secrets of the around me, they reward me in many ways to keep quiet. Men with pierced ears are better prepared for marriage. They've experienced pain and bought Jewellery.

Not to mention the great Amiga demos you used to get. Many of them actually work with these emulators, which is incredible when you think of the various hardware hacks they must have used at the time. Long live JOEs! Ah, they were the days! :) -- The Obliterator
