Our company is thinking of renaming, mostly because our product (only one, as we're a small company) is well-branded in the industry. The concept of changing it sounds fine by me, but they want to rename to "[product name] Solutions". The problem I have is that the connotations of anything that ends with "Systems" or "Solutions" or "Networks": it makes you think of the dotCom bust. So, since I have a large audience on CP, i ask you all: what would be a good term to use after the product name, without sounding like a dotCom? CYA notice: I shouldn't reveal the current company name because we're still in the planning stages of this. The kindest thing you can do for a stupid person, and for the gene pool, is to let him expire of his own dumb choices. [Roger Wright on stupid people] We're like private member functions [John Theal on R&D] We're figuring out the parent thing as we go though. Kinda like setting up Linux for the first time ya' know... ...append "Heavy Industries" to the current name... Oh, and whatever you do, don't use "Associates" or any word containing the letter "X". If your name already contains "Associates" or the letter "X", then take this opportunity to quietly depreciate that part of it. Make it smaller in your logos and such...

I work for Dytech Solutions. I don't think the name is hurting us :-) Christian I have several lifelong friends that are New Yorkers but I have always gravitated toward the weirdo's. - Richard Stringer

Heavy Industry Technologies, Inc., with absolutely amazing acronym. :-D (this is allowed in the lounge, right? :~ ) The kindest thing you can do for a stupid person, and for the gene pool, is to let him expire of his own dumb choices.
