Never been. Would like to one day though. As a member of Amnesty International I am aware of a lot of the regions politics and problems. I've also read The Sum of all Fears by Tom Clancy, but I don't think that counts as it does over simplyfy the problem. :-) Michael :-)

I have been on 3 trips to Asia for work and no I had no idea of the political situation before hand. Though seeing the guards at the airport with machine guns made sure I didn't piss around too much. 1. Hong Kong 2. Singapore 3. Isn't Australia a separate continent ? But it would be nice if it was part of Asia . The combined Asia, Australia cricket team would be interesting/difficult to pick.

I travelled in India, Nepal and Tibet. I usually briefly follow world politics, not only before leaving for the trip. Tomasz Sowinski -- http://www.shooltz.com

LOL! We keep referring to ourselves as part of Asia, but we are also a continent. We are also part of Australasia. It's about now that my head starts to hurt thinking about it. cheers, Chris Maunder (CodeProject)

Did you go to tibet on a holiday or on work? How is Tibet, I mean, development of the places and quality of life etc. compared to Nepal or India? - Thomas

Did you go to tibet on a holiday or on work? Holiday. How is Tibet, I mean, development of the places and quality of life etc. compared to Nepal or India? It's a really complicated question. Remember that Tibet is one of the most remote regions of the world. Some people are nomadic, so their quality of life is extremely low on western standards. I think all in all these countries you can find people living at *very* different quality levels. To get the broader picture you'd have to go there yourself :) Tomasz Sowinski -- http://www.shooltz.com
