Hello everybuddy, a .NET newbie friend of mine just called me and told me when trying to start a new ASP.NET project using VS.NET 2003 on a Windows XP operating system ( he said SP2 but he was not sure about) a dialogue indicates an error and prevents project creation. error is some thing like version incompatiblity between .NET framewok version and webserver version. I know IIS 5 is installed on his system and as long as I know it is the version required by .NET 1.1. can anybuddy kindly guid me thru solving his problem soon, he is a good friend :-) Thank u so much, - Den --- "Art happens when you least expect it."

IIS 5 supports the ASP.Net 1.1 package; using the tool mentioned above may help to resolve any version conflicts. But it may be something entirely different. VS.Net 2003 has never successfully created a new site on my system, nor could VS6 InterDev. I don't understand why, since the free .Net Web Matrix tool has no trouble creating new sites. But the workaround solution is to manually create the site in ISM, manually change the folder permissions to allow write access for damn near everyone, then use VS.Net to create the site in the new folder.
