Is it just me or has every other forum posting stink of homework this past couple of weeks? I personally have no objection to people using forums to help in asignments, I think it is a great way to get many opionions on solving a particular problem, just not the whole project (personally, I put half my knowledge down to pointers from forums in my early days of programming). I just can't believe how many people post problems that they have not even attempted or have a clue as to what the question is actually asking. I can only put it down to last minute end of term stuff.

I've also had a couple of people get a bit shirty when I've suggested that they at least make the attempt rather than blatantly post what is essentially the entire problem. Especially when the answer they need is in the problem statement. I know I sometimes miss something when I'm reading stuff, but when it is obvious that the person got half way through the first sentence and gave up then I don't feel so charitable with my time. I just have to look on the bright side I suppose - Greater job security for me in the future.

I have noticed this alot on the C# Yahoo group too. People have then replied asking if there is a problem or if hey needed someone to do the entire thing and then some even posted a rate to do it for them. Definately sad times for the education system. Steve Maier, MCSD MCAD

I've recently started using Rentacoder, and I'm astounded how many people seem to get all their homework done on there. It's incredible. But, as others have said, it's all good for my job security. We've also done some patch up work on RAC, and the stuff some people are writing is just abysmal. I have used RAC too. One of the big problems is that everyone bids SO low to get the work. I would say that quite a few of the winning bids were because they low-balled it. Not to say that they can't do the work, I am sure that they can, but it makes it hard for others to get side work that way. Steve Maier, MCSD MCAD
