¿Happy? New Year - Updated
-
This shocked me. I am from Argentina, actually I live 10 minutes away from where this happened. This should have been a new year's party. Sadly, this happened before on this place, but those times it was controlled. :(( Cnn (in english)[^] Clarin (in spanish) [^] UPDATE: I have just found that a friend of mine was in this concert. Luckily he was right next to the door, waiting for a friend when this started, so he could get away safely, but he saw everything and it's unvelievable what he tells me. Children of 5 and 6 are dead :( Matias

:rose: Sadly, those places appear to not have had adequate crowd control (including too many people). Also, all that alcohol probably helped the fire along. I remember watching a documentary about a Chicago nightclub fire from back in the '40s or '50s. The owner had locked the fire exits so people could not skip out on their meal bill. There was only 1 stairway to exit the basement club, which was decorated in very flammable decorations. The main floor club was too. Between the smoke, flames sweeping across the walls and ceiling, and people trampling each other, it was a disaster. And in this case, it was not even overcrowded. 5000 people in 1 club? I've never seen more than 2-3 hundred in 1 club here. Mine is not to question Why, but to shake my head and sigh.:sigh:
