I consider most Jews to be culturally white - i.e. they're heavily influenced by white Western culture, political thought, and economic systems. You might want to take a look at the politics that he has previously endorsed. The one that springs to mind is his support for the Khmer Rouge, whom, he argued, were unfairly demonized by the Western Media. In his mind, the Khmer Rouge were throwing off the yoke of American influence, and, therefore, were to be lauded for their accomplishments. The basic problem here is that he didn't understand the Khmer Rouge and based his judgements purely on the degree to which they opposed (in reality or in his own mind) America. He continually dismissed claims coming out of Cambodia about the crimes of the Khmer Rouge. e.g. When Jean Lacouture published a book review of Ponchaud's Cambodia: Year Zero in 1977, he touched off an intense debate with American academic cum activist Noam Chomsky. Chomsky, who is a distinguished linguist, found erratas in both Lacouture's review and Ponchaud's book. In a series of polemical exchanges that were sometimes public, other times private, Chomsky referred to these mistakes as examples of deception and fraud that fueled anti-revolutionary propaganda against the Khmer Rouge by the media. Together with Edward S. Herman, Chomsky published an article in mid-1977 in the Nation, entitled "Distortions at Fourth Hand" that became the centerpiece of his argument against the media's frenzy over Pol Pot. ... In 1976, SEAP graduate Gareth Porter, and his colleague George C. Hildebrand published a small, unread, but important book entitled Cambodia: Starvation and Revolution. However I buy mr Chomsky's general ideas about citizens marginalised by the elite, and that no imperialistic state (today: USA), has probably ever done anying in foreign countries that the havn't gained on themselves. Its purely self-interest that motivates. Mr Chomsky doen't have to convince me that this is the layout of events in the world, this is essential. There is just too much evidence to not be ignored (middle east, south america). Ordinary people dont want this, but as long as they are kept ignorant, terror will spread thought the world at the expence of small defenceless countries. And hey, I'm not even left wing, I am right wing. We have the same tendancies here in Sweden, so I'm not saying we are any better.
