Hi, I have a maybe unusual question: Do you guys know of an extension that will allow me to name open firefox windows/tabs? I'm asking because I sometimes have to make many routine searches (in my case sequence alignment via NCBI blast) at once and the window titles are not meaningful at all... So it's sometimes difficult to remember which window belonged to what search ;-) Thanks for any suggestions Martin "Situation normal - all fu***d up" Illuminatus!

I don't think there are any that support that. However, it shouldn't be too hard to write one up. The XPCOM interface is pretty clean and setting tab.title should be enough. (It would be reset after every refresh though...so you'd have to handle that and reset it back to what you want it to be called.)

The tabbed browser extension will color tabs based on how they were opened. Each external link creates a tab with a new color and then each child tab keeps the color, you can also manually change the color. That might help you.
