DNS comes with NT/2000 Server not with IIS, not sure about POP3. Michael Martin Pegasystems Pty Ltd Australia martm@pegasystems.com +61 413-004-018 "Don't belong. Never join. Think for yourself. Peace" - Victor Stone

Windows NT and 2000 Server come with the ability to be a DNS server. When you first install W2KS it even asks you if you want to make it a DNS server. As for a POP3 server then MDAEMON from Deerfield is pretty good. We use it for all our mail and have had no problems. You can even get a Linux version, if you want. One question I have... was there a POP1 and POP2 before POP3? regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa "The greatest thing you will ever learn is to love, and be loved in return" - Moulin Rouge "In other words, the developer is dealing with an elephant, the accountant is dealing with a bunny rabbit." by Stan Shannon - 16/10/2001

            There was POP (RFC918, 1984) and POP2 (RFC937, 1985) before POP3 (RFC1939, STD53, 1996). Four draft versions of POP3 were published in 1988-1994.

IMAP and POP are totally different beasts though, aren't they? regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa "The greatest thing you will ever learn is to love, and be loved in return" - Moulin Rouge "In other words, the developer is dealing with an elephant, the accountant is dealing with a bunny rabbit." by Stan Shannon - 16/10/2001

I use SimpleDNS Plus for DNS on my home server that is connected to the internet 24/7 via DSL. Works great! www.jhsoft.com For complete mail (smtp, pop3, imap, mailing lists, etc.), I use MERAK Mail Server from: Icewarp It has performed flawlessly for over 2 years now! They have a web mail product for their mail server as well if you're interested in that type of thing. There are lot's of other alternatives for mail servers. Good Luck! Jon P.S. Both of those products run on pretty much any windows os, as services on nt and 2000, and as applications on the lesser versions.
