My bad. For some stupid reason I wasn't checking the size of the input data before storing. This is fixed now. cheers, Chris Maunder (CodeProject)

50 chars max? What a coincidence... That's the default maximum size for text fields in MS Access ;P

Very good. A big elephant stamp for Pavlos! The forums were originally using the Jet engine, but with all the rewrites and upgrades that magic number has survived the test of time. Email addresses can be WAY longer than 50 chars, but for reasons of sanity and space saving I've kept to 50. A friend, who puts even David to shame for having way too much time, has the longest email address and the longest domain name I've come across. http://www.iwantedthelongestdomainnameintheworldandthisisaprettygoodone.com cheers, Chris Maunder (CodeProject)

The same man who has enough time to reply to every thread on the forum Hey, that's not true. I only reply to about 50% of the threads you know. The main reason is that I can't let anyone have the last word over me. I just have to word my comeback to everything. It's the others who are to blame - they're always brining up touchy subjects.

You are right, I was referring to the blink tag. I'm just curious, but was/is the blink tag part of any HTML standard, or was/is it a Netscape addition. I would love for it to be the later considering the amount of flak that's thrown at Microsoft for adding IE-specific tags.

I would love for it to be the later considering the amount of flak that's thrown at Microsoft for adding IE-specific tags Good question, I have always just thought "don't use it" not "is it even recognised by W3C?". Well the short answer is: No Blinking, take 1 Blinking, take 2 Blinking, take 3 I checked some resources and it is a Netscape proprietary tag (one which IE NEVER supported, hurrah) and the W3C really stress that they recommend you don't use it, not for anything. Rather use an animated GIF. Also correct me if I am wrong but Netscape has added more propietry tags than IE ever have. Take the simple LAYER tag, that is non standard and Netscape 6 does not even recognise it even more. So IE is the good guy in this war :) please note all links open in your current browser window regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa "The greatest thing you will ever learn is to love, and be loved in return" - Moulin Rouge "In other words, the developer is dealing with an elephant, the accountant is dealing with a bunny rabbit." by Stan Shannon - 16/10/2001
