Hi, folks! I'm looking to be able to spy on the serial ports(s) of a PC to see what data another app is sending/receiving (the other app does not display this data). This must run on a Win98 system and not interfere with the other app. Have any of you fine folks run across (or built yourself) something like this? Thanks! 'til next we type... HAVE FUN!! -- Jesse

Portmon[^]. I've not tried it but since it's from the same people who wrote Filemon and Regmon I expect it'll work pretty well. Stability. What an interesting concept. -- Chris Maunder

This one rocks Advanced serial port monitor[^] You can run it on the same machine as the machine which port your are trying to monitor, just run the monitor on the port first en then the actual program et voila, you can see all the data going in and out! Arjan

I use portmon daily and would have no choice but to give it 5 out of 5 stars. It is one of those utilities that I couldn't be productive without.
