Agreed. On the TV last nigth they showed one of the alleged documents, his name was half way down the page, a table of names, but it was in a different font to all the other names and his name wss printed at an angle. It did look dubious to say the least!

"The difference is that Donald Rumsfeld met him to sell him guns."[^] I don't know if Mr Galloway is guilty or not, sincere or not, but he knows for sure how to use rhetoric!
Fold with us! The only thing that stops God from sending another flood is that the first one was useless.
I think he's an opportunistic pratt at times but also had some valid points about this. Why didn't they talk to the people whose names have been paraded like this first ? The tigress is here :-D

I watched the full 40 minute video last night - it was very amusing. You couldn't write a performance like that. The US senators caught on towards the end though, but it was still fun to watch.

The reporter has Coleman and Galloway's names mixed up loads of times in that report. It was quite confusing to read.

I'm sure Mr Blair would love to extradite his old socialist pal Mr Galloway. He committed the one unforgivable sin in the Labour party - betraying the Labour party. Ryan

K(arl) wrote: but this Senate Investigation is accusing people without showing any evidence depends on your view. they have a paper trail that shows money moving from Iraqi oil through a Galloway friend/associate (his best man at Galloway's wedding, I believe) to Galloway's political campaign war chest (campaign finances). They also have testimony from imprisoned leaders. While you may not find either credible I would wager a year's salary that this particular senator (Coleman) is honest and would not invent evidence. Man, that guy was great! You Brits have some gutsy politicians. Too bad we can't elect him for President.

He does have a tendency to bring libel cases - so you never know. It would be quite a show.

I don't know anything about this politician, but he certainly makes a strong case. On a purely debate oriented perspective, Galloway stepped on the prosecuting Senator's balls. OTOH, not difficult to do when their hanging out there in the wind.

I didn't hear anything that hasn't been said a thousand times before, mostly by reasonable people. To wit: 1) The documents were poorly made forgeries, 2) Everyone, including - and in this case especially - the Americans were finding ways around the sanctions, you just have to look up the quantities that were flowing out - a fool could tell you that. 3) There have been strong irregularities involving billions of dollars in oil moneys in occupied Iraq 4) Contractors in Iraq, many of them well used to suckling on the taxpayer have been having a field day, vastly overcharging everyone. If you call pointing to the obvious, perjury, well then there falls whatever is left of American judicial fairness, to be replaced with banana republic kangeroo courts. As to his guilt or innocence, well if he can find a fair court, I'll let that decide. To me it looks like he is just a guy that was caught in the crosshairs of the Neocons for double duty as scapegoat and misdirection of the day.
