It makes perfect sense to me. Saying "What does it mean?" implies, to me, that David wanted Alex to tell him what it was so that he could summarize it. Alex' version was more like saying "Oh yeah, what does that mean?" That being said, I find it funny that Alex gets voted down for being terse. And this on a programming site...home of the most terse group of people on the planet. ;P

Emphasising the 'does' doesn't change it into that though. It DOESn't make any sense. If anything, emphasise the 'it'. "What DOES Einstein's static-spacetime paradigm mean?"   doesn't make sense to me, "What does 'Einstein's static-spacetime paradigm' mean?"   does. Way too many does's round here... :suss:

Okay. We'll agree to disagree then. Off topic...how the heck did I become a supporter? I mean, don't get me wrong, I support CP and all...but not in the way that gets you the nice little icon. :~

Ah, this is one of those times where I can brag about my girlfriend having a Math degree :-) And she can code, well, in Pascal, but still... And did I mention that she buys me Star Trek DVDs, and actually watches them? :-D "God doesn't play dice" - Albert Einstein "God not only plays dice, He sometimes throws the dices where they cannot be seen" - Niels Bohr
