Then you want a LAAS or WAAS transmitting node, which provides ground based differencial augmentation via GPS frequencies. local area augmentation systems wide area augmentation systems However, since these transmit on GPS satelite signals, which are used to fly aircraft, you will need many government approvals no matter what country you are in. Do you mean a GPS simulator for testing receivers ? If it's a single satellite simulator you can get ones that fit on a desk. Elaine :rose: The tigress is here :-D

If you mean something that can transmit location information from a GPS receiver I use a handheld Kenwood 2m transceiver attached to a Garmin 76S GPS. There are smaller GPS units and smaller trasceivers available, and Garmin now make a combo GPS/2m transceiver that I assume is capable of transmitting its position (I think its called the Rhino) Steve T

I was thinking to a device that I can use for a tracking purpose. Like this one, but something that I can put in his backpack and nobody will notice I don’t know if transmitter is the right word http://www.wherifywireless.com/univLoc.asp[^]

You might want to look up "vehicle tracking systems" - they allow corp's to install GPS spying devices on their fleet of for e.g. delivery trucks to track - there is also a cheap system done through ham radio frequencies. Don't put it on a spouse though - it is illegal to track anyone with out their knowledge.

I think you mean Transponder, satellite information is beamed down to the 'receiver' part of the kit, this information is direction/bearing/speed the information is then relayed back to a base station for tracking via GPRS etc. Blogless
