      No, but unlike in China, I would not be locked up for having this conversation about the Waco fiasco if I was living in the US.

Hey, nobody was locked up in China for talking about Waco either. ;P Seriously, I think you are likely to be wrong this time. If the chinese government was afraid of media coverage so that they choose to use shovels to crack down, then why use guns and explosives at all? You have to come very close to see if a person is holding a shovel instead of a gun, but gun shots can be heard miles away. It does not make any sense. Nowadays it is so easy for someone to enhance a news clip by adding sound effect (preferrably gun shots for more sensation) you just cannot believe every thing you see and hear. By the way, I searched CNN for "Shovel China", guess what I found? There is no mention of this story, but a lot of "shovels made in China". :)
