I just had a situation where a document I commented using different colour texts looked very good on-screen (where it is intended to be used), but totally failed when printed. Now, what I could have used was something that said, "Turn on italics in all green text". I'm sure I'm not the first with these kind of requirements and would really appreciate some pointers. Gene Roddenberry was a legendary pioneer of thought-provoking, futuristic science fiction. George Lucas created Jar Jar Binks.

Edit, Replace. Click More. Place the caret in Find. At the bottom of the dialog, click Format, go to Font in the menu, select green from the Font Colour selector. Click OK. Now put the caret in Replace. Again, click Format, Font, click Italic in the list of Font Styles. Click OK. Now click Replace All. Stability. What an interesting concept. -- Chris Maunder

Thanks Mike. I have used the Find Format feature before, but only for paragraph marks etc. Should have know better. Now, would you mind explaining to the class the difference between a caret and a cursor? Gene Roddenberry was a legendary pioneer of thought-provoking, futuristic science fiction. The caret is the blinking bit where the text is inserted when you type. The cursor shows where the mouse is. Chris Richardson

Do you styles? If so, just modify the style for the comment, everything in that style will change automatically.

I am only just getting into styles, and starting to worship the documents they format on, but this was somebody elses document. Hey, wait, there is a way to create a style from a format, and then select all text with similar format and apply the style. Shoot, I can't wait to get home and start playing with Word.
