I keep deleting this "temporary" file and it keeps bouncing back! Where did it come from and what is "Security Update " in MS explorer actualy doing? I just do not like stuff on my PC without knowing why is it there. Second question - is there a good forum for discussing viruses and how to squash them? I am using on net free virus scans and would like to roll my own. Vaclav

Sounds more like you have some spyware loaded. You should use your favorite anti-spyware software packages to remove them (I have Ad-Aware and Spybot). The security updates usually have something that tells you what it is fixing. Many times its just a knowledge base question and then you have to look it up on Microsoft's site. Alot of the things that MS has fixed in the past are things like buffer overruns or some other problem that might happen. Steve Maier, MCSD MCAD

There's Windows AntiSpyware (Beta)[^], too. I don't know how well it works compared to the other two, though. It seems to do an adequate job. It warns me whenever an application tries to make a change to my system (for example, trying to change a browser setting in some way).

Jon Sagara I said NO salt, NO salt on my margarita!!

I run all three, one scan after the other, and each finds something the other left behind. So a group effort is required, IMO. BW

          All the chickens get it.
And them singing canaries get it.
          Even strawberries get it.
