Well, as usual I fell for the salesman's spiel and instead of upgrading from my Nokia 8210 to a suitable alternative, I have bought a Siemens S45 with GPRS (always on internet connection! Cool!) - he certainly saw me coming. So I'm at a bit of a loss now what to do with it. Does anyone use WAP? Recommend any good sites etc? Has Chris created a WAP version of Codeproject? If not why not? Seriously, I have been playing with this thing for about an hour and I can't find anything useful. James Spibey I love the word naked, it's brilliant isn't it, 'naked'. When I was a kid I used to write the word naked on a bit of paper hundreds of times and rub my face in it - Jeff, Coupling, BBC2

Why not get into a taxi and check your share prices and book expensive plane tickets and book cruises and other things that nobody would ever do like on the BT adverts? ;) Simon Hey, it looks like you're writing a letter! It's great if you have a Pocket PC, or a laptop, then you get get on the internet from everywhere. :) But WAP, hmmmm, I'm still waiting to hear about someone who actually use it and like it. ;) - Anders Money talks, but all mine ever says is "Goodbye!"

Don't worry I bought a WAP capable mobile aprox 8 months ago "Phillips Azalis" , I also thought it was pretty color etc. But I still have not found 1 pesonal use for WAP and will probably disconnect the internet service at the end of my 1 yr contract ! I had heard WAP was becoming big in Europe with youger people, But no I don't know what for, I remember someone here at CP did suggest to Chris that he make a CP WAP version, but sorry again I don't remember the response. I've tossed around the idea of a WAP version of CP but in the end it came down to a WHOLE lot of work for a very small benefit. From what I last read (a few months ago) WAP never took off and probably won't. With the new stinger phones and PocketPCs having full HTML browsers it seems the hardware is at the point where the stop-gap measure of WAP is no longer needed. I've *just* got my grubby hands on an iPaq so a cut down version of CP to run on mobile devices is certainly on the cards. cheers, Chris Maunder (CodeProject)
