Chris M -- how about an ignore feature
-
CM, how about an option to ignore specified users. some of the stock forums have this option, and its a godsend.
What kind of users do you want to ignore? As far as I can see there is no user that floods the whole forum. Don't try it, just do it! ;-)

addendum: so u'd have: [Reply][Email][View Thread][Get Link][Ingore Fakfur] when the posts list, all postings except those on your user block list would be listen. it should just be a simple addition to your SQL clause.
Why not deleting his posts or moving them to the soapbox? Don't try it, just do it! ;-)

Isn't it easy enough to simply not click on the links for post by those you want to ignore. No added overhead that way, plus if you have a change of heart you don't have to update a setting. BW

See the noise level drop down next to the Search Comments link? If enough people vote down fakefur a certain user, his posts will all be below your noise level...and you won't be able to see them. ;)

I think the noise level is just a way to adjust how quickly colors change. You will still see all posts. BW

Ah...you are correct. Interesting. I thought it made the posts disappear. Well...you could always hack together a little Greasemonkey script that hid the posts that were greyed out.
