Microsoft released Beta1 of next generation of Windows and IE7. Has anybody already installed it? If yes what's your opinion, your first experience? Does it worth to play with it or it is still "raw" product? See Slovakia[^]

Using IE7/XP SP2 now. Virtually the first thing I did was head over to the Suggestions forum to ask Chris to fix the browser detection logic - I get the old non-DHTML forum instead of the IE6 version. Stability. What an interesting concept. -- Chris Maunder

After Paul mentioned it yesterday, I installed it this morning. I ran it once, for thirty seconds, then ran the Windows Restore Point to get rid of it. The UI was counter-intuative for me, I had trouble even navigating to a web page properly.

Menubar on every window (tab instance) ... emmm ... sounds very MDI like to me. ... and wasn't MDI something that MS has tried so hard to stay away from? Good write-up. Thanks for sharing.

Fold with us|Development Blogging|viksoe.dk's siteThat's interesting, I'm not sure if I like the idea of a menu on every tab myself. OTOH opera's being MDI* as opposed to FFs tabbased setup is it's single biggest UI advantage IMO. *only address bar attached by default although I suspect it's customizable, almost everything else is.
