The simple fact is, you can change up to six components without any issues, he says. "If you stick a new hard drive in, it doesn't impact anything." six???? great! LOL Nish Sonork ID 100.9786 voidmain www.busterboy.org Nish is a BIG fan of Goran Ivanisevic

 that is just odd. We are flying towards a digital world with Microsoft *normally* at the forefront trying to get this whole paperless-world idea off the ground and yet they can't make more licenses because they have to print some paper licenses?   That is ludicrous! I really wonder if that is the real problem behind this issue... maybe something else has gone wrong (like a field limit to the license key) or something. Surely if their reason is valid they can just assign the license keys and then catch up the printing in the coming months? Something is not right... regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa Do you Sonork? My bet that there isn't any other reason than bureaucracy and bookkeeping. Front line people aren't just allowed to pull new #s out of the their ass. The have get them from a database. Now as far as why the database has to wait on the printing, your guess is a good as mine. That doesn't sound right. Tim Smith Descartes Systems Sciences, Inc.

Actually M$ are analy retentive about your being unable to legally sell software without that piece of paper. Why ? Because it's a useless pamphlet that a lot of people throw out with the advertising material that comes in the box. I'm guessing that there isn't much interest in buying multiple copies of XP for your home PCs just because you can get a few bucks off (a whole 5% :omg:  ), and rather than come out and tell us that nobody is interested (and how that negatively reflects on product activation) they just pretend that they 'ran out'. My common sense would have to run out before I believed that. Error 14M3: Unable to copy file, bit supply depleted. Please refill bit reservoir.

That is the conspiracy theory thinking I was talking about! :-D I really cannot see how sales of Windows XP off the shelves is so bad yet they run out of licenses for the discounted version. Remember to buy one of those discounted versions you need to have already purchased a full-price version (gimmick box and all). So you would expect that the full-price version has sales in excess or at least very close to the discounted version. You may have something there Daniel! :) regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa Do you Sonork? "Isn't that cute! You ran out of licenses. You're a good little product, yes you are. Everyone likes you. Uh huh. Yes they do, yes they do. Baa baa boo boo gaa gaa. Now smile for the news photographer." This is just an ploy to get free advertising.
