Call that a sports car? Or are you taking the mickey? The first time I saw an american pick-up in the flesh I could hardly believe how big the thing was. And you nutters drive those around pretty much as normal? regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa Do you Sonork? For me the one and only dream-car is a Ferrari Testarossa, but a 355 F1 Berlinetta would be nice too. - Anders Money talks, but all mine ever says is "Goodbye!"

Bruce Duncan wrote: Forget Ferrari, I'll take a Porsche any day. While I totally agree that a 911 is a far more driveable and capable car, especially in "everyday" situations, it simply does not have the spirit and character of a Ferrari or a Lambo. Nothing beats the presence of a black Lambo coursing down a street. That is one seriously mean machine. And nothing beats the sound of a Ferrari going flat out... The Porsche is capable, but not very characterful :) regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa Do you Sonork? Being remotely realistic, I'd love to have an Audi S3 (US $43K in Mexico)... going farther up the price scale, a 360 Modena, Maserati 3200GT, or the new Murcielago... maybe an Aston Martin Vanquish! -- LuisR -------- Luis Alonso Ramos Chihuahua, Mexico www.luisalonsoramos.com

Porsche and Ferari et al. are mostly glitter and flash. For pure pounding power get a Corvette. If I had a bottomless pit of money I would have to get myself an Aston Martin Vanquish. And then to fill the rest of my garage I'd have to have a Lotus Elise, the new one and a Lotus Esprit (the white Bond one! ). In fact if I had a bottomless pit of money I'd have one of all of the Bond cars as well as the Lotus and the Aston Martin Vanquish. OK, I'm off to setup a new bank now! :) Graham

An Aston is just the thing! 'd Love one. But I'd have to go for a TVR, but not the new one, a Chimera probably. Not sure if I'd try to go anywhere in it at any speed, just turn it over to listen to the engine noise and you can't hear it properly if you're going fast. Al.

I never really liked the look of the TVR range. They do sound bloody good though (as they race past your 11 year old Metro). And if you had a big sports car you'd have to open her up from time to time. You know, just to see what it feels like! :) Graham

Just bought mi-self a second hand Peugeot 306 GTI-6. ( Standard 167BHP. :) ) I intend to tune and maximize the performance of the engine ... I like the car to be discrete; I mean the car should not look like a performance car: It just amuses me to see the looks on the faces of my unexpecting fellow-road-users  when the devil-engine unleashes its power. BWAAAHAAAAHAAAAHAAAAA!! ( Get the picture ?? :-D ) It will not be so funny when I get the speed tickets :(( and the fuel bills  though... -------------------------------------------------- If my messages appear curt, I apologize. I try to be brief to save your time as well as mine. --------------------------------------------------
