But SATA II offers hope that eventually 15000rpm hard-drives may make the desktop market.... of course their price, limited size, and incredible heat makes them limited in application. I got the Travelstar 100Gb 7200rpm - not sure of the model number but I think there was only 1. It's great. Battery life is (obviously) reduced a little, but nothing painful, and it's a little noiser (in that I can actually hear the drive now, whereas the previous was silent) but I'm very happy. cheers, Chris Maunder

Startup is definitely quicker, as are VS2005 builds. However, I up'd RAM from 750Mb to 1.5Gb at the same time so that's helping things too. cheers, Chris Maunder
