I like my drives like I like my chocolate? Hot and in large quantities. hey, that works for chili too. [update: I just realized one for donuts too... I like my drives like I like my donuts, large and by the dozen.] _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. I was going to make a snide remark that the word should be elusive[^], but then I realized your word choice made an even better pun :-O.

The advantage of having poor spelling, but a poet also.... you are always in doubt if the spelling mistake was a mistake or deliberate. :-O thus the later reference to 500gb 15000rpm drive. ;) _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. But SATA II offers hope that eventually 15000rpm hard-drives may make the desktop market.... of course their price, limited size, and incredible heat makes them limited in application. But hey, I didn't list price in that list before. ;) _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. Talk about things of tomorrow and the mice in the ceiling laugh. I rephrase... Happiness is... Having enough money to upgrade your laptop's 60gb 4200rpm HDD to an extremely expensive 100Gb 7200rpm drive.

The 21.3 inch Samung 213T is pretty near nirvana, especially for $700. Of course now I'm holding out for the 30" Cinema - unless Samsung comes out with something cheaper ;)... Tom Ollar blix: more native than native

I got the Travelstar 100Gb 7200rpm - not sure of the model number but I think there was only 1. It's great. Battery life is (obviously) reduced a little, but nothing painful, and it's a little noiser (in that I can actually hear the drive now, whereas the previous was silent) but I'm very happy. cheers, Chris Maunder

Yeah... the ones I am looking at are Travelstar 100GB 7200rpm drives... two different models of it though... and I can't find any info on the difference. Startup is definitely quicker, as are VS2005 builds. However, I up'd RAM from 750Mb to 1.5Gb at the same time so that's helping things too. cheers, Chris Maunder
