I think that not holding Muslims to precisely the same standards that I hold Christians would be the act of a bigot. I never pass up an opportunity to remind Muslims of the violence that is being done in the name of their religion. I would do precisely the same for any Chrisitan that acted in the same way. But, we do not live in a world that is even in the most remote sense threatened by Christians or their beliefs. We do live in a world where secularism is bulldozing down every last vestage of western civilization and rebuilding everything in its own image. And we live in a world where thousands are murdered in the name of Islam. I simply believe in pointing those facts out at every opportunity. And have no fucking apology to make for it. My critics can bite me. "Patriotism is the first refuge of a patriot."

We just do it for economics. Or is it OK to send a country back to the dark ages just to protect the $. We have fucked Iraq (Or is Iraq just full of the murdering Islamic extreamists you would like to blame for everything) and all the good people who live there just so GW could get his rocks off. Oh at least they have Democracy now so thats OK. Providing the government there continues to do what the US want.

Really. If there are many more Christians out there who think and talk like you i would say the world is most definately threatened. Jon -- modified at 11:59 Wednesday 23rd November, 2005

Have you any proof Mr Riazi act violently because of his religion or do you consider any muslim responsible for the actions of some muslim fanatics?

The fact that he invokes the name of Allah is all the proof that I need. He voluntarily associates himself with a religion that is used as a pretext for murder and bloodshed all over this planet, with absolutely no attempt to disassociated himself from those who do that. None of us, including you (hell, especially you) would let a Christian get away with that. I hold him responsible for what others do in the name of the religion he claims membership in, precisely as I would any Christian. I do not believe that "moderation" is ever an appropriate response to fanaticism. Anyone who remains moderate in the face of fanaticism is nothing but a coward - at best. Sometimes you can be a right cunt Stan. What a fucking shitty thing to say to a guy who has just become a father. You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself - today you're a disgrace to humanity.

I don't accept your premise. I disagree with the war in Iraq, but we are, in fact, there for reasons at least as noble as those that motivated us to liberate Europe.

Did I say I was a Christian? EDIT - And if I were, it is obvious you have no problem in seeing Christianity as a threat. Yet, heaven help us if anyone points out the same issues with other religions. "Patriotism is the first refuge of a patriot." -- modified at 12:07 Wednesday 23rd November, 2005

Pretty close, unless you're also intolerant with your own beliefs. But somehow that wouldn't surprise me.

Actually, so was I, kinda. My comment was what passes for sarcasm - a close cousin to irony. Still, I think you were a little heavy handed. In any case, who (tell the truth now) really gives a fuck that he had another kid, regardless of what you think he'll encourage him to do later in life.

Observing multiculturalism's exclusive intolerance of Christians makes me a Christian? I don't think so. I merely makes me an observer. Maybe you should try it some time. (Mind you, I'm not saying I'm not a Christian, I'm just asking anyone to point out anyplace where I have predicated my arguments on a Christian POV) "Patriotism is the first refuge of a patriot."

That's not what your definition said. Now I see what you meant but it can be interpreted differently and I did.

I've never been on firmer ground, morally, logically, or otherwise, than I am today. If we ever expect Islam to change we are going to have to do it in exactly the same way that we forced Chrisitanity to change - by getting in its face demanding change from all of those who declare membership in it. That's fair enough: as long you realise that many 'liberal' types will feel that you're overstepping the mark. I guess you could even push them away from your cause rather than pull them in which, I suppose (I have no real way of knowing for sure, of course), is what you want. Personally I agree with your sentiments if not the way that you espouse them. But I think all religions are bullshit and present a clear and immediate danger to humanity by attempting to hold us back and bog us down in the inertia that is faith. It just appears that islam, a particularly pernicious faith, is at the high end of that scale at the present time. I'd prefer it, therefore, if you were just as abrasive with all religions or explain to me why yours (if you have one) is better than anyone elses: at the end of the day you all believe in some sort of omnipotent being, regardless of how you practice that belief.

Give me a break. I wish the Republicans would push a more confrontational approach towards Muslims. The truth is they are falling all over themselves to avoid any sort of judgemental condemnation of the Islamic masses. "Patriotism is the first refuge of a patriot."

First off, I am about the most secular person you are likely to meet. I try to live my life according to Christian principles, but that is more an exercise in personal discipline than from any sort of evagelical belief in Christianity. If you read the posts on Intelligent Design from last week, you will see that I was quite abrasive to the Chrisitans who hang out here. However, I include all philosophies, including secularism, as sources of possible oppression and tyranny. I don't think religion is unique in that sense. Far more damage has been done in the name of secular causes than in the name of religious ones. "Patriotism is the first refuge of a patriot."
