What gets me is that this is most likely homework. Why it gets me is they come here asking for us to help. That blows me away. Where I went to school the professors deliberately made the homework very hard. They wanted you to have to come in and ask questions and they often left gaps in the assignments because they wanted to *see* you in their office and they wanted to get to know you. Some students never figure that out. The professors learn quickly who to pass and who to fail. The guys that pass go to the office and ask and get help from the guy that came up with the problem in the first place. The guys the fail come here or somewhere else, get a solution turn it in and then get grilled on the test.

I think it's hilarious now. Here they come for help with their homework. Yeah, come to us. We have no clue what you are doing, how you are supposed to do it, what constructs are required but you expect us to magically rescue you? Come on! Catch a clue. Go talk to your professor, the dude who wrote the problem, that wants to meet you and see how you think and act. You know that guy that can pass or fail you? Remember him? Yeah! That's right go see him. We cannot do a thing for you.

Once I learned that in going to see the professor you can get way more knowledge and help than possible and take an assignment that would take you weeks on your own and turn it into days (which is what the professor intended) with his help I was gold. I would go home burn 2 days working on the problem and getting good and stuck. Then once I really knew the dangers and the nuances of the problem I'd go see the prof. He could easily tell I'd bent my skull around it he'd diagram a class stub out a function or two and I'd be off. That easy...

Yeah, these guys need to learn how to ask the *RIGHT* people the *RIGHT* questions after you have spent time *PREPARING* the *RIGHT* questions you will acquire the *SUCCESS* you desire and the grade you need.

How hard is that? ... :sigh: Sadly some never figure it out and they become our middle managers {CRINGE}...

There is a big black market in Australia for homework and assignments. Many students come from oversea as full fee paying students and are quite happy to spend daddies money having someone else do their homework while they drive around in their Merc. If that fails they often resort to intimidation or outright blackmail "Do my homework or Ill send a picture of you with that white girl to your daddy and he will have you back in Hong Kong before you can say goodbye to her". I have taken a vow of poverty. If you want to really piss me off, send me money.

We have it here to. Really though... That's just life. You gotta learn how to swing it or you'll be wrapping up burgers at McDonald's. If your whole life is in the air because of pictures with you and some chick that's your issue. That's something that maturity will take care of or the gene pool or daddy. Someone will fix it ... or not. The whole point is we are not the ones to get help from. Like we know anything about how to "get a robot to read a picture". I worked at a place where we wrote automation code. It came with API manuals as thick as unabridged dictionaries and you had to do a lot of thumbing to get what you needed. Ah well... No skin of my teeth. Humor maybe but no skin off my teeth at all. If someone has pictures of me and my wife I'll be glad to buy them in fact can I arrange that somehow? :-O:rolleyes:

As a high school drop out it was never an issue for me. People that have come from very different cultures and find themselves let loose in Australia at age 18 with a pocket full of family cash and the attitude to go with it are an endless source of problems. I have taken a vow of poverty. If you want to really piss me off, send me money.

Dang! I was really hoping you'd try to bribe me with some pictures...:sigh::laugh:

Yeah, for some it is and many it isn't. Here in Boise, Idaho it's a similar problem but for a handful of oriental students. They come here and most of them work their buns off but quite a few of them just let it all out and experience all they can. What is scary is that most of them drunk or stoned can still retain more in their heads than many americans that cram for days on end...

That's pretty funny. Interestingly enough I got in quite a bit o-trouble mixing women and bicycles. I talked my wife into going with Shiman SPD clipless pedals on the mountain bike. We stopped at the top of a grueling climb she tried to get out of the pedals and couldn't the big ring put about 9 very deep (and quite painful looking) gouges into her right leg. She wasn't happy with me, the bike, the climb or the ride. Sad to say it was a downer. She recovered though and we had years of great rides after that. The woman can climb on a bike. Man she can go for hours and seems to enjoy it. I can go for hours but it's just not the same...

Bike's and women usually don't mix. I have had both good and bad luck with it.

That picture was taken while riding a Dutch 'town bike'. Its high, has very upright handlebars, pedal brakes and no gears. I purchased it from a bike shop and soon realised I had been ripped off. When I looked a bit more closely the frame had come from a 60's style racing bike (it had the brackets to hold the gear change down on the frame) the wheels were differnt sizes, because of the over sized wheels, incorrect oversized cranks on the peddals and my large feet I couldnt turn a corner with out the wheel hitting my feet. I later found out that some of the bike shops tour the city at night removing components from other peoples bikes to build there own 'second hand' bikes to sell on to stupid stoned Australians. Still it got me to work and back and everywhere else I wanted to be for 6 months. My new girl friend is not very bike compatible unfortunatly. I have taken a vow of poverty. If you want to really piss me off, send me money.

Are these guys serious ?????? :omg: Who the h*ll is paying those folks ??? Do they consider themselves professionals ??? How much impudence can somebody have in order to acclaim somebody else to carry out his tasks while he is going to be paid and given the credit for it ??? UNBELIEVABLE

I'm still astonished with some people. I'm open to critisism but i can't find a reason for voting down the initial thread.Either you are pissed off by me (i'm not offensive) or by the content. If your problem is with the content i'd like to discuss it but i didnt see any thread speaking against the content. So what justifies that down-voting ???? i'd be glad to hear from somebody defending an opposite point of view

Likely it's the C.P. "God squad" expressing their opinion once again.
