must resist assimilation....

I WILL resist, I will not be assimilated into the codeproject collective! I am a higher form of live, you will be assimilated into me! I have said so! You may be wondering at the cause of all of this :) For a couple of months now I have been aware of this thing called "Firefly", but I have been strong willed and have resisted the urge to rush out and purchase the first and only series on DVD to find out what it is all about. When I got an email from one of the few people I manage to keep in contact with telling me how incredible Firefly was, and that he was even basing a central character in a story he was writing (which I seem to be editing, inspiring, etc) on a central character (I think he used her appearance and some of her attitude) I limited myself to doing a google for some pictures to try and work out what she looked like. Beyond that I was strong willed and resisted! When I came across threads here in the lounge about how good it was I read them with interest, but then I read most things in the lounge, especially since upgrading to VS2005 and its new "even faster" compile cycle *sigh* The thread I was reading yesterday all about Firefox and Serenity pushed me close to the edge, but I was strong and resisted! So when I got home last night what did I get in my email? Sendit, a website I purchase most of my DVD’s from had sent out their latest "what’s new" email, and were advertising Serenity at a good price. I only checked amazon for a price comparison out of curiosity, I had no intention of being swayed or making a purchase, honest! So the fact that amazon had both the Firefly box set and Serenity at 40% off, apparently as part of a January sale, and that this was quite a lot cheaper than the other websites I shop with did not sway me at all! Well, not much, honest! Purely in the interests of intellectual inquiry (since I am a curious individual) I hunted up and watched a couple of trailers, just to see if they would help. The upshot of all of this is that due to the release dates, I have a month to satisfy myself that the order was all my idea, before the two items are posted to me. Now I just have to hang on and wait for you all to realise that the cute pussy cat is the ultimate life form, so that you will understand that assimilation is inevitable and that resistance is futile! *rolls over and looks cute* This post was brought to you by a combination of not enough chocolate and having to work out a rather messy drug distribution report. zen is the art of bei

Don't you mean Firefly? I think you've already been assimilated! Eventually, this will all lead to assimilation wars?

Excellent. Excellent.(fly character rubbing "hands") Welcome to our world. He was a snowflake, like other "unique" snowflakes who fell, were stepped on, pushed to the side, and left to disappear.
