It is second day when trying to install something which require Genuine Windows Validation, but the server return invariable the following error: Error[0x80080100] A problem has been encountered during the Windows Genuine Advantage validation process. Due to technical difficulties, we are unable to determine whether your operating system is genuine at this time. Please return later to complete the validation process. Now, I'm really in hurry, and can't wait another few days, just because MS put this crap, and can't manage to make it work. Can this be bypassed??

This happens to me all the time. Why? Because I'm using Win2K. ------- sig starts "I've heard some drivers saying, 'We're going too fast here...'. If you're not here to race, go the hell home - don't come here and grumble about going too fast. the check is done with an ActiveX control. I think that you can disable that control or all controls and you can bypass the check. This used to work when they first introduced the validation, I don't know if this still works. Good luck

You are absolutely right, it's all about using Windows... but I can't move away from it!

My point was that Win2K *always* triggers that error. XP is the only version of Windows that has the ability to not cause that message. ------- sig starts "I've heard some drivers saying, 'We're going too fast here...'. You don't have to use the AX control. FF users would be SOL if that were the case. On the page that tries to install the AX control, there's a link at the bottom that says something like "alternate validation method". That takes you to an EXE that you run and it gives you a code to punch in. This is what I do, I certainly don't let that AX control on my systems. --Mike-- Visual C++ MVP  LINKS~!
